ニッキーのオタク is changing

ひさしぶりだね、みんなさん!!!

Hello everybody, it’s been a wee while since I blogged – this doesn’t mean I didn’t think about it, though. It’s just that I believe that, for those bloggers who blog mostly as a hobby, there comes a time when blogging becomes something special (due to various reasons, but mostly having the time, mood, and material for it). I can explain this better by using an example, and I’ll take my situation simply because it’s not my place to talk about others’. Consider being an undergrad and having some spare time regularly (scarce, but still some); but then there comes graduation, moving away, finding a new job, settling somewhere else, applying for postgrad and just living a normal life, really (I italicised ‘normal’ because there’s no such thing out there, in my opinion). Anyway, I’m not trying to make excuses; I’m trying to say that I will keep blogging, but I won’t do it regularly (might do a challenge or two sometime); and this is when it becomes special. Not to mention that I don’t do reaction posts or any sort of short post – because of the nature and the style of my posts, I work for hours for one post about an anime I watched, or a music post etc. And by this I don’t mean to say that other kinds of posts don’t take time and effort, they all do, but it usually takes me an awful lot of time to write something that I’m happy with, then find the right pictures, then edit everything and so on and so forth, and this isn’t something I would be able to do on a regular basis – not considering that I blog just for fun and as a hobby, like I said. To wrap this part up: I will keep blogging but it won’t be a regular thing for me, it’ll be spontaneous (as much as I can do that) – just like it’s always been really, now that I think of it; but I promise I’ll try my best to make each post special and enjoyable.

Another thing I meant to explain is the title of this post: ニッキーのオタク is changing, in that it’s broadening, widening horizons, if you will. Basically, the whole thing will stay the same. However, it will include not just Japanese stuff, but Korean also. Korean, yes. I’ve been into Kpop for a good few years (over 6 now), but I never thought to blog about it; and now I thought I might just do it when I feel like it. I also watched some Korean anime series (Pucca for example), so I will be writing about such things too. I might also do some haul posts or just whatever I feel like for the おんがくの時間 section. Please feel free to comment your opinions about this – is that something you’d enjoy reading?

I hope everyone’s been OK! Thanks for reading and still being with me!
